Top 5 Myths
Myth #1: Only the first level is important
Many e-books and other resources used by business owners will emphasize the need to be at the top of search results, whether in Google search, other engines, or social media. But surveys show that people often see other results and they scroll down the page. For example, at the top of the second page, it can be very beneficial for traffic. In addition, search rankings are only part of the puzzle. Now, Google will also place other results on web pages, such as social recommendations and local results, which means that you can open up more channels, and the first place is no longer as important as it used to be.
Myth #2: You Can Do SEO Without Outside Help
Doing SEO simply means that you follow a set of technologies and procedures to increase the chances of network users accessing your site. Indeed, anyone can learn these techniques. If you are a website owner and you want to do your own SEO, then you can spend time learning and applying these technologies. However, search engine optimization can be complex and touch many areas, such as online marketing, coding, technology, and public relations techniques. Most business owners simply don't have all the requirements for doing a good job of search engine optimization. That's why there are so many organizations that help. If you want to get really good results, simple IT workers or online tags are usually not enough.
Myth #3: META tags are very important
It used to be that every page on your site needed a META tag to rank well. This code can provide Google with a list of keywords and descriptions. The search engine will use this to find out what your website is about. However, these do not affect your ranking now. Both Google and Bing stopped following the META tag to index the site. However, they are not useless. For example, your description tag will be the text that appears next to the link that often appears in search results, so it is still a useful part of the action.
Misunderstanding 4: Highly ranked keyword-rich domain names
As early as the dotcom era, it was very important that you use the URL. Google focuses on the domain name. If you can get a keyword name, you will have a greater advantage than other websites. This is why many companies in the late 1990s spent a lot of money buying domain names. But now, the indexing process only looks at the actual content of the page, not the domain name. This name is still important because people can still see it, but it won't make you rank higher.
Myth #5: You must submit your site to Google or other search engines
All search engines have a URL submission form that you can send to Google and other websites. In fact, they still do this, but this process is unnecessary. The crawlers currently used by these engines are complex enough that any new site can be found within days, if not hours. The only time you don’t have to worry about submitting your site for some reason, it’s not automatically indexed a few days later.
